Bachelor Brad Smith makes sweets in town for sick kids Bachelor Brad Smith and his fiancé Bianka Kamber will be in Oakville to help support sick children by making sweets. The pair, along with Oakville actor/musician Nathan McLeod (YTV's Life With Boys), will be at the fifth annual Luke's Legacy Sweethearts for SickKids on Sunday (Feb. 10). The afternoon event is geared for parents and their children, who can come and decorate a heartshaped sugar cookie (nut free) at a cost of $5. Money raised at the event will go to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children's Cardiac Critical Care Unit. There will also be a silent auction, where people will have a chance to bid on 10-inch cookies personally decorated by celebrities Mike "Pinball" Clemons, Bryan Baeumler of HGTV's House of Bryan and Disaster DIY, McLeod, Smith and Kamber. The latter three will also be present at the event. The fundraiser is put on by Oakville's Holmes family, including mother and father Carolyn and Troy and children Zak, Max and Jackson. It commemorates their son and brother, Luke Holmes, who died from Congenital Heart Disease in 2006 at the age of 22 months. Luke had open-heart surgery at the Cardiac Critical Care Unit before his first birthday. Kamber was Luke's nurse while he was going through treatment. The fifth annual event is at a new location. It will take place at Longo's at Burloak Drive and Wyecroft Road. "I'm confident this will be one of the most successful years yet because we have Longo's and their wonderful staff 100 per cent behind us, supporting us every step of the way," said Carolyn Holmes, in a news release. "The room is triple the size of our previous venue, brighter, and easier to access." The fundraiser is just before Valentine's Day.
