Tyler Stodulski, Myles Vita-Finzi and Kyle Krebs scored in the championship game and Michael Dipietro earned the victory in goal as the Phantoms defeated the Brampton Snipers 3-2. Goodhoofd an OUA all-star Former Abbey Park student Kayla Goodhoofd was named to one of the Ontario University Athletics West Division women's basketball all-star teams. The third-year forward was named to the OUA second team after leading the Guelph Gryphons in scoring, averaging 13.0 points per game and ranking third in the OUA with 3.0 steals per game. Goodhoofd also averaged 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists. Guelph finished sixth in the OUA with a record of 7-14. Bonsu finalist for Laurier award Holy Trinity grad Doreen Bonsu is one of three finalists for the Outstanding Women of Laurier Award. The award recognizes a female Wilfrid Laurier University student who combines athletic and academic achievement with a commitment to leadership and the development of young athletes. The third-year history major has been a starter on the Golden Hawks' women's basketball team for the past two years. In each of those seasons she has finished in the top 10 in the country in offensive rebounding, Intermediate Hornets ousted The Oakville intermediate AA Hornets' season ended last Thursday with a 5-1 loss to the Durham West Lightning at Joshua's Creek Arenas. Victoria Medeiros scored the lone goal for the Hornets, who failed to win a game in the best-of-five firstround Provincial Women's Hockey League playoff series. Durham West won the first two games in Ajax by scores of 3-1 and 3-2. Oakville was the 14th seed in the PWHL playoffs after posting a record of 13-17-6-2 in regular-season play. Durham West was third with a mark of 27-6-2-3. Posting five straight wins, including two by shutout, the Oakville minor bantam Bardown Bandits claimed the championship at the recent West London Byron Optimist Cup hockey tournament.
