Change won't happen until we focus on alternative energies continued from p.16 as to how we can help our earth, such as stopping the use of fossil fuels. But this is very difficult and will not happen for decades or until we've worked out solar and other energy-generating methods. This is the most important change we need to address but it is not an easy change, as it will require all countries to agree to make those changes. There are some changes to our lifestyle that we can all make and which will help. One of those changes includes changing product packaging, just think of the waste that results from packaging. Imagine how much landfill space we'd save. We also need to change our ideas on how we dispose of the waste we create on a daily basis and need to think of more environmentally-friendly ways to do so. Making small changes will take time and will add up over time but they will only be effective if we reduce our use of fossil fuels. Each of us can take a step in making change and it is important that we make a commitment. It is a given that if we do make a small change in our lifestyle, we will have more time to enjoy those little things like playing sports outside with our friends, going for walks and generally enjoying the outdoors. So, when all is said and done, it's not too much to ask, is it? We need to make some changes at the individual level, the national level and the international level in order to help Mother Nature. We need to do it without hesitation if we wish to enjoy this little planet of ours for a long time.
