The forum will take place at the Oakville Conference Centre and will address questions about how the community collectively can foster innovation for the future. Experts will lead discussions in four key areas, including: planning and infrastructure, transportation, sustainable buildings, water and waste management. Oakville is home to some of the world's most iconic engineering firms: GE, Hatch and Siemens. Sustainability experts from these companies will be sharing their expertise at the symposium. Complimenting these presentations, Metrolinx, Enermodal Engineering, PwC, Ellis Don and the Region of Halton will also share their experiences, knowledge and visions related to sustainability. The day's keynote speaker, Senator Art Eggleton, presents widely on the issue of sustainable cities. The symposium will be run from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and features a post-event networking reception. The board is asking parents, guardians and community members to provide input concerning its budget priorities for the upcoming school year. The budget input deadline is Friday, April 19.
