To the person responsible... Continued from p.9 We were so pleased that it was placed so close to our own home where we could visit it (and therefore her) often. Last Christmas (the first one since we lost her) we walked after our family dinner to the nearby to the tree and hung a small photo of each of us on the tree's new branches. We gathered in prayer and remembrance for our Nana whom we adored and missed terribly. Imagine our shock to see that the very branches where our little Christmas photos once hung having been sawed off. Branches from both sides of the fragile new tree have been removed during this past winter deliberately and in clear view of the dedication plaque at the base of the tree. The person did this knowing that it was a newly dedicated memorial tree. What once helped to ease our suffering now stands stripped of any side branches... a single stick in the air . We simply could not fathom how anyone could do this to our grandmother's tree. Our hearts are broken and we thought you should know about our Nana and the love she so abundantly shared. We will have the tree replaced with a new one; one with branches; one with dignity befitting the woman it represents. April is Cancer Awareness Month dedicated to remembrance of those lost, help for those suffering and hope for a future without cancer .
