Halton Regional Police Service Sgt. Dave Cross said the incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot at 141 Robinson St. "Following the issuing of the offence notice, the recipient approached the bylaw of cer," Cross said. Police say the man grabbed the bylaw of cer and tried to pull her out of her vehicle. The suspect was arrested by police at the scene and charged with assaulting a peace of cer. No injuries were reported. A 79-year-old Oakville man was released at the scene to a family member and will appear in court May 28. The Oakville schools were taking part in the relay of a giant pencil travelling from school to school in celebration of the 15th anniversary of Conseil Scolaire Viamonde. Thursday, the pencil was passed on to Oakville's École Secondaire Gaétan-Gervais. OCCPEHR is organizing the environmental initiative. "Safety is our primary concern at the Earth Week Clean Up," Dankowich said. "We provide work gloves and garbage bags. Please consider bringing your own pick-up stick, rake, broom, wheelbarrow and shovel," said Dankowich.
