The fundraising event has raised more than $115,000 for cancer research since its inception in 2008. This year's goal is set at $50,000 and net proceeds will go towards four charities that support the battle against cancer, as well as Wellspring Halton/Peel. Award-winning comedian Laurie Elliot will return as event host, along with newcomer Terry McGurrin and Trevor Boris. "There's never been a better reason to laugh out loud," stated a press release. "So, gather your girlfriend, sister, and mom for a night out you'll never forget and raise money for a cause that touches every one of us." Representatives from the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation and Jeff Rushton, founder of Tour for Kids, will be in attendance. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the Operating Engineers' Conference and Banquet Centre, 2245 Speers Rd. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $70, individual or tables of 10 are available, and includes a gift bag, photos by Snapshot Photobooth, complimentary snacks and dessert selection -- there is a cash bar available for alcohol and soft drinks.
