School where Mrs. W. J. Deadman took the salute. Helen McMillan, Company Leader of 2nd Aldershot Guides was presented with a gold cord by Mrs. W. J. Deadman. This award is the highest that a Guide can win, and represents five years of guiding for Helen. Mrs. J. E. Jones, division commissioner presented inspection awards to Guides and Brownies. These awards are given to the Guides and Brownies ranking highest in inspection for the year. The winners were Jacqueline Wilkinson, Elizabeth Taylor, Joyce Tapsell, Eleanor Unsworth, Marily Trimmins, Margaret Jean Crewson, Caroline Windsor, Carolyn Brown, Kay Ashcroft, Janet Gallagher, Ernestine Profit, Margaret Evans, Elaine Sutherland, Jean Terry, Mary Elizabeth Whelan and Helen Brunner. Mrs. E. E. Bullock, district commissioner, explained to the assembly that the local association awards could only be given to girls going to camp. Jean Terry had been third, Mary E. Whelan and Helen Brunner tying for fourth place. She then presented special awards to Eva Filman and Marilyn Webber, first and second girls of 2nd Aldershot Company. R. Todd, division commissioner and Scoutmaster of 2nd Aldershot Scout Troop, spoke briefly to the assembly.
