Aldershot W. A. [Women's Auxiliary] Making Plans For Festival... May 17, 1962 Plans for the Junior Auxilary festival to be held May 26, beginning at 1.30 p.m. were made at the regular meeting of St. Matthew's W.A. Mrs. Gordon Gallagher presided and read the monthly bulletin. The members voted to increase their donation to the freight fund for the annual bale. Mrs. J. Quigley read the minutes and reported on a recent visit to the Ontario Hospital. Mrs. J. Jervis gave the treasurer's report. An invitation was received to the 56th annual meeting of the Hamilton Health Association. The next meeting May 22 will be preceded by a pot-luck luncheon. It will be the annual thank offering meeting as well, and a special service will be held at 2.15. Hostesses for the social time were Mrs. W. Collins and Mrs. S. Gilliland. Tuesday Feb. 26, 1963 Mrs. Gordon Gallagher presided over the regular meeting of the W. A. which opened with a hymn and a prayer followed with a Bible reading by Mrs. 0. Twiss. Members attendend the special service at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Westdale, which was addressed by Bishop Zulu of the diocese of St. John, South Africa. The Bishop is the only Angligan prelate of his race. After Mrs. J. Jervis reported on finances, Mrs. R. Cutler spoke of the many handknit articles taken to the Dorcas Room and displayed a dressed doll for the bale. Most of the calendars have been sold, reported Mrs. B. Lindley. The work of the J. A. was disclosed by Mrs. C. Wright. These 24 young girls are making babies bibs, jackets and nighties. A section of the book, "Who Cares," on people with special needs, the handicapped, the mentally ill and the blind, was reviewed by Mrs. J. Read. Hand for World Day of Prayer and the 60th anniversary celebrations were discussed. Mrs. Gallagher told of diocesan officers visiting the W. A. in Buffalo at their Diocesan House. She closed the meeting with a prayer and thanked the hostesses.
