HOLY ROSARY C. W. L. [Catholic Women's League] April 21, 1962 from The Canadian Register Burlington: Seventy-five members were present at the annual meeting of the Holy Rosary C.W.L. held recently in the Parish Hall. Mrs. W. A. Whelan presided. Annual reports were given by the following: Mrs. E. A. Mortimer, Mrs. A Marino, Mrs. Frank Kretz, Mrs. Norman Plumbley, Mrs. J. F. Lawlor, Mrs. Lloyd Wills, Mrs. A. Marino, Mrs. William Cockman, Mrs. Joseph Davis and Mrs. G. V. Pickett. Reports were also given by the various group conveners. Nominating committee of Mrs. Lawlor, Mrs. Regan and Mrs. S. Leskew then presented the new slate of officers. They are: President, Mrs. Whelan; first vice-president, Mrs. Mortimer; second vice-president, Mrs. Frank Zizzo; third vice-president, Mrs. Ken Butler; secretary, Mrs, A. P. Palmer; treasurer, Mrs, John Craig; and corresponding secretary, Mrs. J. F. Reardon, Mrs, J. O'Brien presented Rev. B. J. Ryan with a cheque which represented the financial efforts of the CWL during tne past year. Father Ryan on behalf of the members of the CWL presented the past president's pin and a prayer book to Mrs, J. F. Lawlor. In his remarks to those present, Father congratulated the groups on their maximum of activity and charitable works and thanked the outgoing executive for their efforts during the past two years.
