Clipping of photos - October 31, 1956 - TURN SOD FOR NEW CHURCH - The congregation of the Aldershot Presbyterian Church, which is meeting temporarily in the auditorium of Glenview School, witnessed an auspicious occasion on Sunday following the morning service, when ground was broken for the new church building on LaSalle Park Road. Pictured at the occasion are, from the left: J. Frank Duff, clerk of session, W. J. Moffat of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, convener of the extension committee of the Hamilton Presbytery, who turned the sod: the Rev. Charles Carnegy, Moderator of the Synod of Hamilton and London: the Rev. William Black, minister of the Aldershot Presbyterian Church: A. J. MacLeish, chairman of the board of managers (back row) and H. Penman Smith, chairman of the building committee. It is anticipated that the new church, the sixth in the Aldershot district, will be ready for opening at Easter. MINISTER LEAVING - August 24, 1962. A presentation was made by the congregation of Aldershot Presbyterian Church to the Rev. William Black, who will preach his last sermon there Sunday. Mr. Black leaves after seven years with the church for Dresden, Ont. With the church in the background, he chats with his wife and T. A. Ferguson, right.
