The Teens Canteen - This project is making excellent progress under the capable chairmanship of our secretary Mr. Don Grierson and his very capable wife. This was one of the most difficult undertakings in our many and varied projects, demanding very much of their time and energies. Due to their untiring efforts and the splendid way in which the members of the Teens executive have co-operated in working along with them, this promises to be an outstanding success. They now have two members representing them on the City Teens Council. The Sports Committee - The chairman Mr. Earl Perkins and his associate, Mr. E. Pendleberry coach, and with assistance from Mr. E. Neville trained a group of 18 or 20 boys who entered in the Burlington Lion Club Midget Bantam League. This team was very successful, having gone through the season without a single defeat and winning the league championship. The sweaters donated by Ferro Enamels of Oakville, caps by the council and their equipment was loaned by the Aldershot Mens' Club. Mr. and Mrs. Nash entertained the boys with a corn roast at their home, Mrs. M. Klodt supplying the corn for that party. The Championship crests were presented to the boys at a party given by the Lions Club in Burlington. Township Council Night - The chairman was Mr. William T. Corp who presided at this meeting which was organized to give the people in the district the privilege of hearing and meeting the candidates for the Township Council and School Board. The Aldershot News - The Chairman, Mr. Robert Pinhay and the editor is the very capable Hope Hoey (Mrs. R. Hoey). This paper was published in the interest of Community Council and is a service to Clubs and organizations in the district. It is paid for by advertising of the businessmen in the district.
