KIWANIS GROUP TO START IN ALDERSHOT The chairman of the new Club Extension committee of the Hamilton East Kiwanis Club has announced a splendid response from the resident of the Aldershot area to the idea of a Kiwanis Club here. Twenty-five leading business and professional men in the Aldershot area are preparing to launch the Aldershot Kiwanis Club about April 1st. These men will meet weekly from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Willowbank. CHARLES McCREA Kiwanis rules allow only two men from any business or profession. They must own or be in an executive capacity in business to qualify. Many splendid projects can be undertaken for this area - a Community Centre; recreational facilities such as artificial ice rink, swimming pool, playground equipment, etc. We of the Community of Aldershot are hopeful that Service Clubs such as the Kiwanis and Lions may provide the impetus to Community Action to establish some central area as a place for young and old to play and mingle together. The opening of a Kiwanis group in Aldershot will contribute greatly to the welding together of our Community.
