Aldershot Branch (now Burlington) Women's Institute Historical Research Report 1960-61 As convenor for the past year I submit the following report. Last year at this time we were considering disbanding as an Institute group and to continue working on the "History of Aldershot" which had been compiled over a period of years. Well, we reconsidered, as is evidenced by the gathering here today, and due to the leadership and generosity of Mrs. E. C. Banks (Lorraine) who consented to be our President, and offered her home for meetings and storage of material, we have had a very interesting year. Our former book had clippings pasted on heavy paper, and family histories were in a separate book. We divided some of these pages among members who re-typed them, and we have sorted the rest into groups such as Local History, family histories, schools, churches, organizations and current events before and after amalgamation. Some new items of family history added and some pictures and records obtained. Interest is very keen and we hope to have our revised book ready for viewing by the end of this year 1961-62.
