A R B O R W E E K Grandmothers Stride to Turn the Tide on June 8 Oakville-based oomama is joining four other grandmothers' groups in participating in the fourth annual Stride to Turn the Tide national fundraising walk Saturday, June 8. Oomama, along with Burlington Ubuntu Grandwomen, Blooms for Africa, Halton Bronte Grandmothers and North Halton Grannies, will join the more than 200 grandmothers and "grandothers" at Heritage Place, 4151 Kilmer Dr., in Burlington at 8 a.m. in solidarity and support of African grandmothers. The groups join thousands of grandmothers across Canada, walking to build awareness about the HIV/AIDS pandemic while raising funds to support African grandmothers and the children in their care. All funds will go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation's Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign. Registration is $25.
