On Feb. 20, he was at The Oakville Club, where he shared his travel stories and pictures with members at a lunchtime event where he pledged to donate a number of his books to charity. Zelinski became a photographer in 1977 and is also a publisher, writer, painter and filmmaker, who published seven photography books. He also received the Canadian Governor General's Medal. He has distributed 5,000 copies of his books to 60 charities throughout Canada and around the world. Now, he has pledged to donate 7,000 copies of his three photography books, Untitled, From the Field and One Small Flame to charities around the world. "I've experienced many societies that lack the basics that we take for granted - and children are always the most vulnerable," Zelinski said in a news release. "I think we need to see the human race as a family, and it's exciting for me to use my photography books as a gift for children and a tool for charities who work to help people every day around the world."
