"Hydro One")> s proposing to build on approximately 1 80 kilometre double-circuit 500,000 volt (500 kv) transmission uine on a svîdened existing transmission corridor from the Bruce Power Facility ("Bruce") in Kincardine to Hydro One's switching station in Milton ("Milton"). The Ontario Power Authority identified and confirmed the need and route for the new transmission line earlier deis year, The Bruce to Milton mie will increase transmission capability to reliably and saifely deliver approximately 3,000 additional megawatts of emission-free electricity from sources in the Bruce area ta thie provincial grid. The project is sub1ect to approvols under bath the Ontario Energy Board ("OEB") and Environmento/ Assessment ("FA") Acts. The new mie is planned ta be in service by December 201 1. Reference Route and Potential Local Route Refinements The reference route for the Bruce ta Milton Proiect is sfiawn on the map above. Potential route refînements in the Brockton, Hanover, Camp Creek (Municipality of West Grey) and Halton Hilîs areas are now under considerotion. These ornais were îdentified based on public and stakeholder feedbock receîved during Hydro Cne's extensive consultation progrom conducted over thse post yeor. Consîderotion of potentiail route refînements was orîgînally contemplated ta occur durîng thse environmental assessment process. Hydro Onu is undertaking this work earlier ta ensure thot ail potentîoilly affected property owners are informed and con fully partîcîpate in the FA and OEB processes going foi uid. Environmental Assessment Process Update Thse proposed FA Terms of Reference ("ToR") for the Bruce ta Milton Pro1ect was submitted ta the Mînistry of thse Envroament on August 4, 2007. Hydro One has amended the ToR ta oddress public and stakeisolder comments receîved during the review perîod and on October 30, 2007, resubmitted a revîsed TaR ta thse Mînistry of the Fnvronment for final review. We expect a decision on tise ToR before the end of thîs year Tise ToR provîdes a "road-map" as ta how the FA process wil! be conducted. To ensure full access ta aIl project information and Hydro One staff and consultants, tva addîtîonol public information centres (PICs) are planned.
