This was the key message Ontario Minister of Transportation Glen Murray delivered Tuesday as he kicked off the well-attended Western GTA Summit -- a day-long event being held at the Mississauga Convention Centre. Its purpose is to give the residents of western GTA a voice in the debate about the future of transit and transportation in the area. It drew upwards of 200 people. Murray called such a discussion "critically important" and admitted that, in today's world, mobility is everything. "This innovation economy has two characteristics about it that deal with mobility. Highly mobile capital and highly mobile people," the minister said. "We have to be the most connected region in the world and we have to have the highest level of mobility and the highest quality of mobility. We have to be able to attract highly-talented individuals and capital that can be invested in that innovative economy."
