Key Areas for review identified to-date by staff include, but are not limited to: &om Plan • Incorporating a new urban growth centre; • Updating intensification policies and targets and identifying specific intensification areas and the built boundary; • Incorporating a new planning horizon and population and employment growth forecasts to 2031; • Implementing urban boundary adjustments to accommodate the growth projected to 2031; • Updating employment policies to include employment land conversion policies; • Incorporating changes required through the Greenbelt Plan including the identification of the Protected Countryside area, related policies and key natural heritage features; • Incorporating updates to the Niagara Escarpment Plan area and its policies; • Incorporating revisions to policies relating to infrastructure, affordable housing, the natural heritage system, agriculturaVrural areas and mineral aggregates; • Incorporating policies relating to municipal wellhead protection and source water protection; and, • Incorporating definitions and mapping to support new policies and updates made to various Provincial Plans (including the Parkway Belt West Plan). AddItloaal Related Oficlai Plan Ravlelv noms • Incorporating changes to the Central Business District (CBD) area; • Incorporating a new commercial section to include major commercial uses (formerly permit ted within employment areas) and to clarify other commercial designations in accordance with the Town of Milton's Retail Commercial Demand Study (2006); • Incorporating minor changes to hamlet policies; • Incorporating revisions to rural lot creation policies; • Revising urban design policies; • Identifying and incorporating policies relating to future strategic employment areas; • Adjusting the Town boundary by removing the Ninth Line Corridor to reflect the Annexation Order; and, • Incorporating policies of the Town's Strategic Plan - Destiny Milton 2. It is anticipated that additional key areas may be identified from the public, agency and Council input received during the consultation process. Further information, including staff reports will be posted on the "Official Plan Review "page found under "Current Projects" on the Town's website and will also be made available at the Planning & Development Counter located on the 2nd Floor, Town Hall East, 150 Mary Street, Milton, as it becomes available. Draft policies to be included in an amendment to the Official Plan to meet the requirements of the conformity exercise will not be considered ait this meeting. There are meetings scheduled over the next few months ait which time, draft policies to the Official Plan will be considered. Further notice of these meetings will be published in the newspaper and posted on the Town's website. Police responded to an alarm call at 12:18 p.m. and discovered a rear patio door had been forced open. Taken were a 42-inch Samsung plasma TV, a VCR and Camcorder. Impaired driving charges laid A 36-year-old Milton woman faces impaired driving charges following an inci- dent Friday night. An off-duty police officer noticed a vehi- cle being driven erratically in the Clark Boulevard/Trudeau Drive area. The driver lost control and hit a tree. The suspect was charged with impaired driving and 'over 80.' Items stolen from vehicle A Bluetooth, GPS unit and satellite radio were stolen from a vehicle in a Bussell Court driveway sometime last weekend. The items have a combined value of roughly 'Pl /. Trailer stolen from business A yellow Bobcat trailer was stolen from Hotline Electric March 9. The theft from the Steeles Avenue busi- ness occurred sometime during the day. The 18-foot trailer, with a licence plate of F9969H, is valued at $6,000. Thieves take wood-chipper A Bandit wood-chipper was discovered stolen from Brandt Tractor Ltd. on Esquesing Line March 10. The theft occurred sometime between February 15 and March 10. A lock was cut to gain access to the fenced-in property. The yellow wood-chipper is valued at $25,000. Vehicle stolen from residence Unknown suspects stole a 1994 Dodge Caravan from a residence on Britannia Road overnight March 9. The grey van has a licence plate of AZPF 128. No value on the vehicle was given. Teen robbed while walking home H-alton Regional Police are investigat- oemuu~ ing a local robbery. Shortly after 2:30 wW EUI a.m. January 23, a teen was walking home when he was con- fronted by three males in front of Rogers Video on Main Street East. One of the sus- pects demantled the teens belongings and he complied. Stolen items include a BlackBerry cell phone, iPod nano and a bank card. The suspects were last seen running southeast into the parking lot of Milton Mall. All three suspects were described as males, white, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall and 20 to 25 years old.
