J I Halton e lalthc are NEWS AND INFORMATION FROM MILTON DISTRICT HOSPITAL Milton Town Council Supports MDH Expansion On Monday, June 28, 2010, Milton Town Councillors unanimously voted in support of a motion 1 regarding Municipal support for the local share plan for the proposed expansion of Milton District .0 Hospital (MDH). Council directed Town staff to begin researching and identifying potential funding E mechanisms to fulfill its contribution. Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) is continuing to pursue approval of the expansion at MDH and 3 the commitment from the Town of Milton of a municipal contribution clearly demonstrates the community's support of the redevelopment project at the hospital. The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is currently in the process of building their capital project list which is expected to be released in 2011. With the Town's commitment and the demonstrated need at the hospital we e are optimistic that HHS will receive approval to proceed to the next stage of planning for this vitally important expansion project. Resources Saved by Milton District Hospital Every year Halton Healthcare Services' (HHS) three comrinunity hospitals 7, take part in a number of green initiatives - working together to conserve some of the Earth's most valuable resources. In 2009, HHS' Milton District Hospital (MDH) diverted 52-cubic yards of waste from the landfill. The hospital also saved 297 trees, 60,800 kilowatts of energy and 122,150 litres of water.
