A number of road improvement alternatives were examined, including structural and drainage deficiencies, cross sectional requirements, intersection improvements and overail traffic operations. The study has been conducted in compliance with Schedule C of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, amended 2007), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. Taking into consideration the comments that were received from the Town of Milton, regulatory agencies and the public, Halton Region is recommending a preferred design which includes the reconstruction of Guelph Line in the southern portion of the study area to provide a rural 2-lane cross-section, partially paved shoulders with formalized drainage ditches.
