Kay worked diligently to bring together the various Barbados organizations into a single cohesive committee to plan and execute the event. "She reached out to attract sponsors and supporters and was able to garner support from the consular community through leveraging her role at that time as Consul General for Barbados at Toronto," Kirton said. "Kay laid the groundwork that established the not-for-profit organization Barbados Ball Canada Aid, which puts on the Barbados Ball, securing a solid footing for the event that has led to continued growth over the past 10 years. The members of BBCA appreciate her leadership and applaud her as a worthy recipient of this award." Kay is CEO of the executive training, coaching and consulting firm The Executive Minds, and president of International Development Facilitators, a charity that brings together and manages resources for development projects in the Caribbean. More than 600 guests are expected to attend the ball to be held at the Pearson Convention Centre in Brampton. For more information, visit www. barbadosballcanada.com.
