Suds it up at CarStar Saturday Clean your car for a good cause Saturday (June 8) at the 10th annual CARSTAR Soap it Up Cystic Fibrosis (CF) National Car Wash. CARSTAR Oakville, 547 Trafalgar Rd., will join 70 stores across Canada in hosting the fundraiser. The local car wash runs 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with proceeds to the Cystic Fibrosis Canada and Oakville A's Minor Bantam hockey team. Soap it Up has raised $2 million for Cystic Fibrosis Canada; set a Guinness World Record for largest car wash in 2009 and 2011; and created a Dirty Car Art Exhibit to support the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. A ticket costs a minimum $5 donation. As part of its 10th anniversary, two Canadians will win the opportunity to attend one of the top 10 celebrations in the world such as Oktoberfest in Munich, St. Patrick's Day in Dublin, New Year's Eve in New York and La Tomatina in Spain. Cystic Fibrosis is a multi-system disease that affects the lungs and digestive system and is the most common fatal genetic disease that affects Canadian children and young adults.
