Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lorne Fox. Together Lorne and Nancy had four sons, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Nancy devoted her life to her family and was a wonderful mother for her sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren. Nancy's loving nature extended beyond her family volunteering throughout her adult life. When Nancy first came to Oakville she volunteered at Peter Pan Nursery School, working with developmentally delayed children, as well as a "Pink Lady" volunteer at OTMH and the Breast Cancer Support Group in Burlington after surviving breast cancer. Everyone who met Nancy immediately recognized her kind thoughtfulness. Nancy will be greatly missed by her husband Lorne, sons Tim and his wife Janet, Michael and Pina, Neil and Dianne, Doug and Lori, grandchildren Sarah (husband Matthew Dodgson and daughters Sydney and Avery) Katie (Michael), Emily, Matthew, Jeffrey (deceased 1990), Jennifer, Nicholas, Stephen, Brianna, Monika Fox and brothers David Beaudoin (deceased 2012) and Ed Beaudoin (wife Sarah and son Noah). Nancy's brave determination to survive cancer, compassion for others and endless love for her family is inspiration for the family she leaves behind. Nancy will be greatly missed. Visitation was held Tuesday June 4, 3-6 pm; Funeral service was at 6pm at Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Rd. W, Oakville. Online condolences may be offered at www.oakviewfuneral.ca DEMPSEY, Frank Passed away on Saturday, June 1st at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. He was the best friend and beloved husband of Colleen for 61 years. Loving and proud father and Grandfather of Jim Dempsey, his wife Carolyn, and children Rebecca and Emily, Bonnie Lockington, her husband Bryan, and children Matthew, Katie and Amanda, and Heidi McKean, her husband David, and children Elli and Brent. Frank was larger than life and lived it to its fullest. A veteran of World War II, he accepted a football scholarship to the University of Florida. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Arts, he was drafted by the Chicago Bears, where he played for four years. In 1954, he joined the Hamilton Tiger Cat's, and played in the CFL All Star game in 1955. His love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing led to a successful business career in Peterborough, Ontario that spanned 25 years. On retiring, Frank and Colleen continued exploring the world. They traveled in their beloved Pace Arrow motorhome, making new friends across North America. In the mid 90's they settled in Vero Beach, Florida where Frank honed his tennis skills. He was a man who made a difference where ever he landed. In the twilight of his years, he and Colleen resided at the Kensington Retirement Home in Oakville. As was his character, he greeted all with a friendly hello, and a happy and positive attitude. Friends and Family will be received at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville on Wednesday, June 5th, from 10 - 12 p.m followed by a memorial service at 12pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Will be dearly missed by her children Nickye, Philippa and Dominic and all her grandchildren (predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Patrick, in 2011). Barbara was born March 14, 1930 in Coventry, England. She was an avid longdistance swimmer at a very young age. Barbara was also a strong cyclist participating in velodrome races as a young adult. She married Patrick in 1962 and they spent the first 14 years of their marriage in Rickmansworth, England raising three children. She was known as a fabulous cook after training at the Cordon Bleu School of Cooking and her dinner parties were eagerly anticipated. The family emigrated to Oakville, Canada in 1976. Barbara then started a 25-year career as a real estate broker and this was her passion. She was actively involved in arbitration and was a member of The Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Ontario. A private service has taken place.
