Suspect facing first-degree murder charge in court today continued from p.1 across the country who have been touched by Bosma's story over the last two weeks. At a Wednesday afternoon news conference, Hamilton police thanked their counterparts for their assistance in the case, including Halton Regional Police and confirmed a second person had been arrested in the case. "Today, the Hamilton Police Service arrested Mark Smich, 25 years old of Oakville, Ontario. He was arrested on Dorval Drive north of Wyecroft Drive, just after 10 a.m. this morning. Mr. Smich will be held in custody and will appear in court tomorrow at 9:30 a.m., at the John Sopinka Courthouse. He will face a charge of first degree murder," stated Hamilton police Supt. Dan Kinsella at Wednesday's media briefing. Police have previously said there were at least three people involved in Bosma's abduction and murder. Dellen Millard, a 27-year-old Toronto aviation heir, is charged with first-degree murder. Police had been looking for at least two others -- one suspect who arrived at the Bosma house as part of the test drive, and another person thought to have driven a car that followed Bosma's vehicle as it left the property. On April 28, Bosma posted his 2007 Dodge Ram pick up for sale on two different websites. On Monday May 6, a male arranged by telephone to view the truck at Bosma's residence in Ancaster. At approximately 9:20 p.m., Bosma went for a test drive with two young males in this pickup and never returned. Police were notified of Bosma's disappearance immediately by his spouse and an investigation began. Due to the unusual nature of the disappearance the homicide unit took over the case. The investigation revealed that Bosma was murdered; he was taken to a location in Waterloo where his body was burned. The Tip Line and Crime Stoppers have received more than 700 tips and police continue to investigate. -- with files from The Hamilton Spectator 3 | Thursday, May 23, 2013 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Reaction to the arrest of Oakville's Mark Smich in connection to the murder of Ancaster's Tim Bosma was varied in the Montrose Abbey Drive neighbourhood Smich called home.
