Spirited and energetic, loving, kind, gentle and caring, she was beautiful and gracious till the end despite suffering Alzheimer's in her later years. She died the way she lived peacefully. Beloved mother to Edward, John, and Mary Ann; mother-in-law to Barbara and Irene; adoring grandmother to David, Alicja, Mary, Gregory, Michael, Katherine, Mark, and Devin; great grandmother; devoted wife of the late Walter Podgorski and dear friend of many. She touched the lives of all she met with her grace, compassion, and equanimity. Condolences through www.koprivataylor.com CRICHTON, Phyllis Mary (nee Switzer) passed away on June 6, 2013 in Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 76 with her loving family by her side. She was born in St. Boniface Manitoba on March 17, 1937 and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. Growing up in Hamilton she had many fond memories including her high school part-time job at the local hockey arena. She was especially proud to have helped her parents Steve and Helen Switzer build their family home. She later attended McGill and UBC where she was president of her sorority and graduated with a BA from McMaster in 1961. In 1965 she married the love of her life and they had two daughters who adore her. They raised their family in Oakville Ontario which she loved. She retired from a long successful career as a Business Systems Analyst at Ontario Hydro. In her retirement she helped to build and design another home in Prince Edward County on the shores of Prince Edward Bay where she spent 10 happy years. She loved the sunshine. One of her favorite things to do was to sit outside on the porch with her cup of coffee and her Sudoku. She was famous for her shoulder rubs and cabbage rolls. She will be remembered fondly for many things ... among them her kind and gentle spirit, her cheekiness, her intelligence and honesty, her soft green eyes and her bountiful vegetable garden. She will be missed by many whose lives she touched with a friendly smile or word including extended family, family friends, local acquaintances she "chit chatted" with as she went about her errands and any little kid she made smile along the way. She is deeply missed and survived by her husband Tom "TJ", and daughters Lisa and Tricia. DE ZAVARICHINE, Jaroslaw On June 6th 2013, Jaroslaw DeZavarichine passed away at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at age 84. He was a long time resident of Oakville and had retired from the Ford Motor Company. He will be missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
