Oakvillians lauded for their environmental efforts Several Oakville residents were among local environmental champions recognized recently in Conservation Halton's (CH) annual Awards of Excellence. A ceremony was held at CH's administrative office in Burlington, to recognize the efforts and contributions to conservation by individuals and organizations in the Halton watershed -- including Halton, Peel, Hamilton and Puslinch. "The Conservation Halton Awards of Excellence recognize the outstanding commitment people and organizations make every day in the community to benefit the natural environment in our watershed," said John Vice, CH chair, said in a news release. "Congratulations to everyone who received, or were nominated for an award -- you are making a tremendous difference." The award recipients were given certificates of appreciation from CH in front of the more than 130 guests and dignitaries that attended the ceremony.
