Helen Hudak, an Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton client and a senior who volunteered for the project, said she was apprehensive at first, but the students made it very easy and comfortable for her to open up to them. "It was such a wonderful experience," said Hudak. "To meet someone else and tell them your stories and see how much they appreciated it firsthand... the students were great. If I get asked to do this again, I would in a heartbeat." Vail thanked the seniors who volunteered to share their stories and said how proud she was of her students. "I've watched you grow individually and as a group," she said of her students. "And it's just been a blessing for me as a teacher to have had this experience. I'm going to carry this with me for the rest of my years."
