And the community came. The meal served approximately 80 recipients of Kerr Street Ministries' (KSM) daily dinner last Thursday, (June 27). "I think it's humbling and I think it's very supportive for the community for us to connect. There's no better way to connect than to share a meal," said Karen Baring, mom of Sophia. The idea was formed when Baring heard from her friend, who volunteers at KSM, the organization needs support to provide the daily meal. Gary O'Neill, executive director of the Christian charity organization, which has assisted those in need in Oakville for the last 18 years, acknowledged this reality Wednesday, during an interview with the Oakville Beaver. O'Neill said between the costs associated with its building at 485 Kerr St., and maintaining its programs, KSM is strugGary O'Neill gling to stay a oat.
