Police said individuals have reported being locked-out of their computers after receiving alarming pop-up messages warning the computer has been associated with pornography. These warning messages claim to be from the RCMP , the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) or the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP), and tell the recipient to pay a ne so the computer can be unlocked. The message also claims that if the ne is not paid within 72 hours, criminal proceedings will commence against the user. Police said these types of messages, commonly known as `scareware,' are designed to create such shock and anxiety that victims respond by sending money quickly. see Keep on p.12 Tennessee native and 2012 FedEx Cup Champion Brandt Snedeker takes a determined swing during the rst round at the 2013 RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club Thursday.
