Ontario Red outscored its opposition 21-0 in preliminary-round play, posting wins over Prince Edward Island (6-0), Ontario White (4-0), Alberta (10-0) and British Columbia Blue (1-0) before tying British Columbia White (0-0). In the gold-medal game, Ontario Red posted another shutout, blanking British Columbia White 2-0. Another Oakville resident, Sofia Pisano, suited up for Ontario White at nationals. Ontario White went 2-4 at the tournament, with two of the defeats decided by one goal -- including a loss in penalty flicks to British Columbia White in the bronze-medal contest. Dunn, O'Hara and Pisano are all members of the Halton Field Hockey Club. Fellow HFHC players Julia Costanzo and Danielle Crumpton, both of Burlington, also played in the national championships. Costanzo played for Ontario Red and Crumpton was a member of Ontario White. Mike Lunder of the Red Sox makes contact during the Oakville Little League's Big League championship game Tuesday at Glen Abbey Recreation Centre. Led by strong pitching from Nick Raycroft and Troy Christoffer, the catching of Anthony Rigato and stellar play in centerfield from Lunder, the Red Sox overcame three hits by the Nationals' Jeff Morrad to win 5-1. | photo by Hannah Yoon Oakville Beaver Oakville Non-Contact Hockey Halton Men's Men's Halton Recreational Recreational Hockey League Hockey League (Our 30th Year!)
