The event is designed to raise funds for peerto-peer mental health support programs as well as awareness for child and youth mental health issues. Many communities, including Halton, lack such programs. However, research shows there is significant benefit for youth who battle mental health challenges and illness. More than 200 players, spread over 18 teams, are expected for the tournament, which is being planned as an annual event. Funds raised at the tournament will go to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Halton. For information, go to www.shineshout.com or visit @shineshout on Twitter.
