For Patrick McDuffee, store manager, it was a chance to say thanks and give back to the Kerr Village community at the same time. "We use the afterschool program with Kerr Ministries for our son Cash," he said. "They pick him up when school lets out and he gets to hang out and play there until 6 p.m." McDuffee added that he and his wife, Celina, "are more than happy to help them whenever they need it. "It means a lot for my wife and I to be able to help out the Ministries and their kids program, which we try to do on a regular basis now. They do a lot for us with helping watch Cash after school and they do a summer program as well, which gives us both the opportunity to work." The special guest that evening was `Batman', who spent time shooting hoops with the youths. When asked why he dresses up like the iconic DC Comics character, the man behind the cowl said, "I do it just for the fun of it, and to see the ADVERTISING FEATURE It means a lot for my wife and I to help out the Ministries and their kids program, which we try to do on a regular basis now. I remember seeing Spiderman when I was a kid, at a birthday party, and I was blown away... I just hope I can make a few kids feel the same way I felt back then. "When Patrick at the Comic Connection asked me, I was happy that I could be a part of that."
