Tragically, Girard's favourite place in the world now appears to be the scene of his death following a re at the cottage Tuesday morning. The Oakville resident and businessman loved the outdoors. His wife, Claire, said he had a passion for shing, waterskiing with his children, and organizing reworks displays for the family. Girard was at the family cottage Tuesday when, Pierre Girard at 8:20 a.m., emergency personnel were called to the home. It was fully engulfed in ames by the time of their arrival. Oakville residents are being asked to help replenish the stock at Fareshare food bank during its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to ensure those in need won't go hungry. The food drive, which runs Oct. 4-19, is the largest and most signi cant of the year for Fareshare. Food donations will help sustain Fareshare through Easter and ensure the 370 families who need the food bank will receive supplies during the winter months, said Nancy Bromberg, Fareshare president. see Fareshare on p.3
