The emergency service points out nearly half of all fatal res in Ontario occur because there are no working smoke alarms in the home. "The majority of re deaths happen at night when everyone is sleeping," said Oakville Fire Chief Lee Grant. "In most cases, you have as little as one minute to escape a re so timing is critical. Use your extra hour this weekend to replace the batteries in your smoke alarms and develop a home re escape plan." Bonifacio, 28, grew up in Oakville with two brothers Jordan and Nathan and his sister Kiera. He graduated from St. Thomas Catholic Secondary School. As far back as he can remember, he was always drawing. His dad, Charlie Bonifacio is an animator who worked on such movies as Land Before Time and All Evan Bonifacio Dogs go to Heaven, as well as TV shows like Inspector Gadget and The Care Bears. He was also an animation professor at Sheridan College. Bonifacio says his dad and his mom, Judy, were always supportive of his artwork and encouraging him to follow his dream. Yet, he didn't really start getting serious about practising until Grade 11.
