Norval pit-STOP urges objectors to proposed quarry to re-send letters By CYNTHIA GAMBLE Staff Writer The Norval pit-STOP Community Organization says all citizens who objected to the proposed Norval Quarry almost two years ago, now have until Oct. 1 to re-send their objections or else their concerns will be dismissed as invalid. Brampton Brick is proposing to excavate shale from 9.35 hectares of the 34.9 hectare (86 acre) property located on Winston Churchill Blvd., just north of Hwy. 7 (Guelph St.). Under the Aggregate Resources Act (ARA), Brampton Brick had two years to respond to its objectors -- 1,200 letters were sent at the time. Both the Town of Halton Hills and the City of Brampton have submitted objections. Once Brampton Brick responds, objectors must respond within 20 days and if they don't, it is deemed they have withdrawn their objections.
