He was predeceased by our wonderful, loving mother Emma, his wife of almost 60 years in 2009 and also our beloved brother Hubert (2007). Walter Kux leaves his loving children, daughter Karen Smith and her husband Brad, son Ron and his wife Leslie, his daughter-in-law Heidi, in Victoria B.C. and his beloved grandchildren Kurt Kux, Bryan and Marc Smith, Stephen and Shayne Kux and his pride and joy and only granddaughter Amy Kux. His unconditional love for all his children and grandchildren was unwavering. Walter was a carpenter and cabinetmaker in Germany before immigrating to Canada in 1952 with wife Emma and young son Hubert. He and Emma built a house on 22nd Sideroad in Georgetown, then a cottage near Magnetawan and had many happy years there. They instilled a love of nature, simple pleasures and also the joy of a job well done. Our dad was a devoted family man. He had a quiet, practical down to earth nature but he also had a great sense of humour and liked to just have fun, especially with his adored grandchildren. He will be missed by the family, friends and neighbours in Georgetown, in Germany and "Up North" on Whalley Lake. The family would like to send our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped in the last several weeks, especially his neighbours on Maple Avenue and all the staff on Complex Continuing Care Unit at the Georgetown Hospital. You have so helped us through this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. Private family service will be held. If you would like, please give a donation to our wonderful Georgetown Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, Georgetown 905-877-3631.
