The Eagle Ridge Golf Course hosted the event in honour of Bill Laidlaw to raise funds for the youth of the Noval United Church and the Halton Hills community. Brad Fraser, representing the Bill Laidlaw Memorial Fund committee was pleased to present Canadian Tire Jumpstart Chapter Chair, Anne McClenaghan, with a cheque for $1,500. This money will help ensure Jumpstart can help more local kids to get active by giving them the opportunity to participate in local sports and recreation. On the final day of the Town of Halton Hills's summer camp and aquatics program, two staff members get to spend the day in the shoes of Director of Recreation Terry Alyman while he works as a supervisor at one of the camps. Kirstin Shenk and Kyle Chapman were hard at work in Alyman's office during the morning before hitting the road in the afternoon to tour some of the town's recreation facilities. Shenk just graduated from the University of Toronto's kinesiology program and is now taking in Humber College's grad program for exercise science and lifestyle management, with Chapman heading into his third year at the University of Guelph for commerce and accounting. Thornhill, who has been at Office Magic for eight years, was joined by Chamber chair Norm Paget and director Wendy Farrow-Reed for the presentation.
