He is survived by his beloved and cherished wife of 60 years and dear friend of 75 years, Marian, devoted daughters Janet and Linda and very special sons-in-law Greg Carr and Mark Enns. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will miss Dick's special joi de vivre. Predeceased by his sister Mary Frankish (2010). Dick was born on May 10, 1929 in New Liskeard, Ontario. His heart will forever remain at the family cottage where he would return often to his roots. He will be interred at Pioneer Cemetery, Temiskaming Shores in the spring 2014. He obtained his BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1952 and started a long and very successful career that took him from Quebec to Ontario and Michigan. He was President & CEO of three diverse companies; Westclox Canada, Baker Perkins (Canada and US) and Hayward Pool Products Canada. He supported local charities such as United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Sisters of St. Joseph (Peterborough) through direct involvement and served on several boards during his working career, most notably Trent University Board of Governors. A memorial service was conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland North, London, on Sunday, November 24th, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of London or Highview Residences. The family would like to thank Dr. John Jordan for his compassion. We would also like to thank the `family' at Highview for their exceptional care. His final home was filled with love, care and compassion. For this, his family will be forever grateful. November 16, 1937 - November 22, 2013 It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that our family announces the passing of Stan at age 76. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Helen, daughters Susan (Stephen Hayes) and Kathryn, and grandchildren Madeline and Ryan Hayes. He bravely fought a battle with brain tumours for 18 months and passed away peacefully at Ian Anderson House in Oakville surrounded by his devoted family. Stan will be fondly remembered by brother Ladd (Marilyn) of Peterborough and their children Mike (Laureen Grieve) and Lori (Garth Scully), and by sister Anne (Roy Cameron) of Kanata and their children David (Jeanine Demmler) and Dawn (Gary Hermer). Stan, born in Kirkland Lake Ontario, was an electrical engineer and had a 30-year career with Square D Canada, retiring 23 years ago as Vice President. He treasured his family and enjoyed travel and life at the cottage. He loved woodworking, building grandfather clocks and any new experiences that life had to offer. Stan touched the lives of many. He was kind and generous, had great determination with boundless energy, a sense of humour and a warm smile. He was an amazing person with endless talent. No challenge was too great and he was always ready to lend a helping hand. We are thankful for the attention and care that Stan received from Dr. Perry and Dr. Soliman at Sunnybrook, and Dr. MacDonald at St Michael's. Sincere thanks for the support and care from Dr. Pyper, CCAC, Dr. Benjamin, and the staff and volunteers at Ian Anderson House. In keeping with Stan's wishes a private family service will be held at a later date.
