The Hornets fell prey to the Whitby Wolves Friday at Joshua's Creek Arenas, dropping a 2-1 decision. Olivia Atkinson scored for Oakville in the second period, tying the game 1-1, but Whitby notched the winner in the third. The Wolves outshot Oakville 32-13 on the night, but netminder Daniela Paniccia held the Hornets in the game by making 30 saves. The following day, the Durham West Lightning struck down the Hornets by a 4-1 score. Oakville's Jordan Martin opened the scoring five minutes into the game before Durham West responded with four unanswered markers. Stephanie Loukes took the loss in net. The Hornets (7-8-3) will be home to the Stoney Creek Sabres Friday (8:30 p.m. at Joshua's Creek) in their final league action of the calendar year.
