More than 30 centimetres of the white stuff blanketed Oakville's roads resulting in about 80 snowplows, salters and various other vehicles being sent out to keep the town's streets clear. "It was a pretty major event for us. A long duration of snowfall," said Mark Covert, senior manager of the Town's Works Operations. "Overall, I think it went pretty well." Covert said snow crews started their work at about 6 a.m. Saturday morning and continued clearing snow until late Sunday. As of Monday afternoon, snow was still being removed from sidewalks.
