S H U F F L I N G F O R S A N T A Help feed pets for the holidays Oakville-based food bank Project Maddie is appealing to the public to help 39 families in the community feed their pets for the holidays. "Project Maddie was contacted to assist 80 families with pets in our community. The majority of these pet owners are seniors, people living with disabilities, and people who have been affected by the downturn in the economy" says Project Maddie founder Kimberley Ford. "We have reached out to all of our supporters and exhausted every resource available to us. To date, we've been able to provide food for 40 families (a total of 73 pets) and that's a wonderful feeling, but we know there are still 39 families in Oakville who are struggling with the decision of whether to feed their pets or feed themselves. That's not a choice any pet owner should have to make, especially during the holidays." Project Maddie's goal is to help the remaining 39 families in time for the holidays, which are less than a week away. Anyone wishing to help can call 289834-3273 or email projectmaddie@gmail. com.
