With the H1N1 influenza virus currently circulating in local communities, Halton Region is reminding residents to take advantage of the final flu clinic it is offering. Residents are urged to drop by the Halton Regional Centre in Oakville next Wednesday (Jan. 15) to receive a flu vaccination. A clinic will operate in the 1151 Bronte Rd. facility's auditorium from 4-8 p.m. Halton Region is committed to safe and healthy communities," stated Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr in a press release. When the final clinic wraps up next week, the Region will have held 28 flu immunization opportunities, he said. Vaccinations are the best way to prevent illness, according to the Region's health department, however there are other preventative measures residents can also take to reduce their changes of becoming sick.
