Beloved wife of the late Douglas Collett (2010). Loving mother of Doreen and her husband Grant Seiveright, Jim and his wife Trish, Ken and his wife Mary. Devoted grandmother of Jill Durrant, Greg Seiveright (Sarah), Jayne, Jeffrey, Connor, Mitchell, Sean, Ryan, Erin and Kristin Collett. Cherished greatgrandmother of Joshua and James Durrant, Gabriel, Madeleine and Rebekah Seiveright. Visitation will take place at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Central Baptist Church, 340 Rebecca St., Oakville, L6K 1K3. Reception to follow at the funeral home before interment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. Condolences through www.koprivataylor.com Birth Announcement IVEY, Donald N. (July 27, 1931 - January 11, 2014) Surrounded by his loving family, Don passed away peacefully at the age of 82. He had a tremendous love for his family and will be forever missed by his loving wife of 56 years Velma (nee Cooke), his children Sue (Pat Gallaher), Wendy (James Simone), Craig (Jodi/ deceased) and Colin (Erika). Cherished and doting Grandfather to Ryan, Matthew, Jessica (Gallaher); Kristen, Lauren (Simone); Jacob, Sydney (Ivey); and Kyle, Kaitlyn and Joshua (Ivey). He will be missed by his extended family. Don attained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1959 and joined the partnership of the Oakville firm Cheney, Glenn, & Graydon in 1970. He had a love for life, travelling and camping across Canada with his family. On retirement, Don joined the Colborne Seniors hiking group completing the Bruce Trail end to end and biking the Waterfront Trail from Niagara to Trenton. He loved cottage life, boating and fishing. There will be visitation at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Paul's United Church, 454 Rebecca St., Oakville, on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2 pm, reception following. The family appreciated all the health care support throughout his journey of battling cancer. Condolences through www.koprivataylor.com and you will receive a voucher for of your baby's precious hand or footprint ($25.00 value) compliments of: GATES, Florence Edna It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Florence Edna Gates on January 12, 2014, which occurred peacefully at Riverdale Manor in Hampton, New Brunswick in her 83rd year. For 42 years she was the wife of the late Floyd William Gates, who died in 1998. Florence was born in Sydney, N.S., the daughter of the late James and Mary (Chant) Mackinnon and resided much of her adult life in Summerside, P.E.I. Florence's passion in life was nursing. She began her nursing career at Glace Bay General Hospital in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, from there moving to Halifax and finally settling in Prince Edward Island, where she nursed for many years at Prince County Hospital before taking on the role as Director of Nursing at the Summerset Manor, Summerside. Florence and Floyd were active members and volunteers with Trinity United Church, Y's Men and Y's Menettes. Florence and Floyd enjoyed many summers with family and friends at the cottage on Chelton Beach. Florence is survived by her son Allison Gates (Barbara McLeod) of Hampton, New Brunswick; daughter Fran Kotulak (Steve Kotulak) of Oakville, Ontario; sister Margaret Burns (Reverend Russell Burns) of Charlottetown, P.E.I.; brothers William Mackinnon of Elmsdale, Nova Scotia, Walter Mackinnon (Judy Burgess) of Bobcaygeon, Ontario; brother-in-law James Gates (Sylvia) of Orleans, Ontario, along with her six grandchildren; Erin, Meg, Eric Gates and Cameron, Courtney, Christian Kotulak, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Merdena Powell; brothers Victor Mackinnon and James Mackinnon; brother-in-law Johnny Powell; sisters-inlaw Kaye Mackinnon, Mae Mackinnon and Mary Mackinnon. Many thanks to the staff at Riverdale Manor for the personal and special care shown to Florence during her stay. Reid's Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB (506) 832-5541 are entrusted with arrangements. In keeping with Florence's wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service in celebration of Florence's life will be held from Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, Prince Edward Island at a later date.
