Oakville's Children in Action (C.I.A.) members hope people will join them Sunday (Jan. 26) in skating their way to build a well in Sierra Leone. The fundraising skate-a-thon supports Free The Children's clean water program, which states it takes $5,000 to build a well and provide clean potable water to an entire community -- so that's their fundraising goal for Sunday. The event is from 6-7:15 p.m. at Canlan Ice Sports, 2300 Cornwall Rd. It costs $5 to participate and sponsorship forms are also available by emailing childreninaction.ca@gmail.com. There will be a raffle and a demonstration by professional figure skater Elyse Molnar.
