Breakfast helps small business build bridges Halton Region's Small Business Centre is inviting small business owners to join its annual Bridges to Better Business networking event Wednesday, Feb. 5. The meeting will run from 7:30 a.m. to noon and will give small business owners the opportunity to learn about the sudden moments that were turning points for other small businesses. It will be hosted at the Rattlesnake Golf Club, 5407 Regional Road 25, Milton. "The bridges event brings together small businesses from across Halton Region with inspiring speakers who are willing to share their knowledge and experience," said Halton Region Chair Gary Carr. "Halton is committed to our vibrant, small business community and the contribution they make to our strong economy. This session provides a terrific opportunity to learn, exchange best practices and make valuable business connections. I'm pleased to join with our partners in offering this special event designed to create AHA! Moments for small business owners and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit in Halton." Carr said an AHA! Moment is a sudden realization, inspiration, recognition or comprehension that can be a turning point. This educational session includes: · Donna Messer sharing her AHA! Moments in starting and growing ConnectUs Communications Canada, as well as tips on how to build the relationships needed to grow a small business; ·Wendy Marlow from The Art of Marketing, teaching participants how to narrow and conquer their target markets; · Diane Gaudon, FCGA, examining some interesting ways to achieve a successful business by looking at the numbers, including whether it's better to aim for higher sale revenues or profits and the importance of cash flow projections and a budget; · Local AHA! Moments from Halton Region Small Business Centre clients; · Facilitated networking session with Donna Messer; and · Full buffet breakfast The registration fee for the Bridges to Better Business event is $40.
