Son of the late Philip Blundy of Oakville and Merle Belford of Burlington; husband for 37 years of Patricia Hueston Blundy; father of Chad (Mary Anne) Blundy and Merritt (Chase) Brunton; grandfather to Mary Kaedence Blundy. Also survived by his sister Connie Blundy of Vancouver; brother Ian (Sandra) Blundy of Oakville; sisters-in-law Margaret Hueston and Judy Kelley and brother-in-law Doug Hueston, all of Ottawa. Stephen grew up in Oakville and worked in the Athletic Department at Sheridan College for 34 years. He played and coached hockey for Sheridan and for the OHA throughout his life, continuing to play old-timers hockey until the cancer forced him to stop a year ago. After his family and his cottage on Georgian Bay, hockey was his main passion, but he loved running, snow-mobiling, camping, hiking, history, reading, and his classic Datsun 280Z. A service celebrating his life will be held at 1PM, Feb 3 at Glad Tidings Church, 1401 Guelph Line in Burlington, with visitation from 11 AM to 12:30 PM.
