"I am 100 per cent satis ed they are not the two people we are looking for," said Det. Const. Steve Martin, who's working on the cold cases. Appreciative of the emotional turmoil such tips, and publicity about them generate, Martin said he believes the women are not those listed as missing. "We con rmed the history of those people. We looked into their background and con rm their (information)," said Martin. On Jan. 22, the Oakville Beaver, ran a story about the disappearances of the 16-year-old Oakville friends in 1983. see Missing on p.4 Keith Childerhose and his wife, Sarah Taylor, in their Oakville home a year after Childerhose had a successful double-lung transplant. The property is currently occupied by the north campus of White Oaks Secondary School (WOSS), however, the Halton District School Board (HDSB) recently declared portions of it surplus. The French school board, Conseil Scolaire Viamonde (CSV), wants to buy surplus land east of the school and last July, Oakville council endorsed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which anticipates the Town and HDSB will sell CSV the eastern site while the Town will keep the northern portion for community use. A zoning bylaw amendment application has been submitted to rezone the land in question to allow a new secondary school. That application will be discussed Feb. 10. If the new school was built, the northern campus of WOSS would continue to function as it is. Meanwhile, the CSV wants to build a three-storey secondary school to house 300-500 students in Grades 7-12. see Public on p.3 sothebysrealtyoakville.ca We Sell Homes Just Like Yours 132 Allan Street, Oakville, ON L6J 3N5 Sotheby's International Realty Canada, Brokerage.
