Members of the team, which won all five of its games at the competition, are Andrew Delage, Sam Caton, Daniel Natareno, Ben Robinson, Matthew Krowinski, Ethan Coulter, Nicolas Boratko, Spencer Clarke, Ben Massey, Colin Hooke, Jaymeson Vasilikos-McRae, Alexander Girard, Jonny Casamatta, Thomas Kinnear, Luke Brown and Ethan Roode. Kings reign in Etobicoke Marco Sorrenti earned his second shutout of the tournament and Brodie MacKay scored twice, leading the Oakville Kings minor peewee minor development team (bottom photo, right) to a 4-0 win over the Brampton Selects in the final of the Faustina Christmas Classic in Etobicoke. Michael Neil-Mahovlich and Duncan Cassidy also tallied in the championship game. In the Kings' other contests at the tournament, they blanked Faustina 5-0, tied Brampton 1-1 and edged Duffield 2-1. Goals in those games came from MacKay (two), Luke Ivan (two), Blake Kinch (two), Mitchel Cox and Michael Dwyer. Other members of the team are Samuel Armstrong, Marc Anilowski, Evan Smyth, Alex Branescu, Ross MacKay, Ben Spence, Michael Bowman and Zach Lazenkas. Jim Anilowski, Jeff Cassidy and Darryl Ivan coach the team, and Kevin Smyth and Matt Spence are trainers. Sport Oakville seeks executives Sport Oakville is seeking candidates with a sport background or interest in sport as nominees for its board of directors for 2014-15. The board of directors is responsible for setting and overseeing the mission and mandate of Sport Oakville, conducting the association's affairs and representing Sport Oakville for and to the membership. Board members have active roles in the following areas of focus: training and events, marketing and sponsorship, membership services and communications, and development grant review. Ideal candidates for a director position should possess an enthusiastic interest and/or background in sport. Experience in fundraising, sponsorship, event organization and/or marketing and promotions would be an asset. All candidates must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of Oakville. Both the Golden Horseshoe and Hamilton Speed Skating clubs are hosting the Western Regional Short Track meet, with events beind held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on the Family Day holiday. Organizers hope the exposure speed skating receives during next month's Olympics will encourage spectators to witness the sport live at the meet.
