The 44-year-old Toronto guitarist who now lives in Tampa, Florida said he began his professional career in his late 20s because of a genuine passion for playing music. "I picked up the guitar at 10 (years old) and played 10 hours a day sometimes," he said. "It was just because I loved to play and 34 years later, I still love to play." Pavlo's love affair with music will be on display at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on Navy Street next week on Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. Tickets to the show cost $63 and can be purchased by visiting www.oakvillecentre.ca or calling the box office at 905-815-2021. Pavlo, who is well-known for his Mediterranean guitar style, will be accompanied by his band members Randy Rodrigues (bass guitar), Gino Mirizio (percussion) and George Vasilakos (bouzouki), all of whom live in Oakville. He said he will be performing a collection of songs off his last nine albums that have taken him across the world, with special guest performance by Oakville saxophonist Enrico Galante. Pavlo Simtikidis Musician "I'm hoping it will be a night of a beautiful getaway (for the audience) right in their own town -- a Mediterranean vacation," he said, adding performing and expressing yourself to a live audience is an experience like no other. Pavlo will also be giving away a guitar from his own line to one lucky audience member.
